NoD - Prologue:

Prologue: (First Draft)

The Czar Junta Fu Kama stands before his people giving a speech, with great urgency in his voice and behind his words.

Czar Junta Fu Kama:
The very word "secrecy" is repugnant in a free and open society, and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are cited to justify it. And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment. That I do not intend to permit to the extent that it is in my control. For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence. On infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific, and political operations. Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed.


Not far away two hooded figures sit listening intently to the Czars words of caution.


Hooded figure 1:
I'd say this one has outlived his usefulness. What say you?

Hooded figure 2:
It's already been taken care of, we have hired an assassin to deal with him.

Hooded figure 1:
How long until it's done?

Hooded figure 2:
He will be traveling across the country sometime in the next few weeks. We must see to it that his first stop is also his last.

Hooded figure 1:
And this assassin can accomplish this?

Hooded figure 2:
Some of the Czars personal guard are aware of what's to take place. The assassin will be caught, and then murdered before he even goes to trial. The people will be so enraged at the loss of their beloved Czar, they won't even question his killers death. To them justice will have been served, most likely by one of their own. Besides we control all the information they receive, if we say it's so then it must be true.

Hooded figure 1:
And the Vice Czar?

Hooded figure 2:
He's more than willing to obey, in fact he absolutely can't wait to become our puppet. He knows what fate awaits heroes, and it's a fate he will never choose for himself, the selfish bastard. We could use more people like him.

Hooded figure 1:
Now that's the truth.

Hooded figure 2:
You chose the perfect time to join us, for we are about to show you the creation of a new world order. Say goodbye to the world as you know it, when Czar Junta Fu Kama falls, this world shall join him.

Hooded figure 1: (Smirks)
If I wasn't left standing on top, this would have me absolutely terrified.

Hooded figure 2:
Your hands are shaking. Excited?

Hooded figure 1:
By the gods I hope so.

Hooded figure 2:
We are the gods now, and to oppose us is the greatest of sins, remember that.
